• The 8th house is the house of death, inheritance, taxes and everything we have trouble talking about. The sun represents our ego, personality and self. When we mix those two together we can get a harsh result.

Sun in the 8th house native have grown up feeling invisible, they felt like it would be impossible for them to shine. While everyone else managed to be seen, they couldn’t even imagine being the center of attention. “Don’t let anyone make you disappear Charlie”. A quote from the show heartstopper which I thought was very representative of what 8th house sun’s go through. In the show, Charlie constantly hides himself in a teachers classroom because he’s being bullied for his sexuality. Charlie is someone who’s not very assertive or upfront about the way he feels. He’s very shy and gentle. Charlie has trouble with any quality that the sun has in astrology. He hides, keeps it low and hopes everything will stop. Which we can’t blame him for, it was his only way of survival. Like charlie, 8th house suns feel ashamed of who they are, because some people might have shamed them for that. Since they are ashamed, they hide, hide form the world, from their friends and from anyone. Some 8th house suns could have been the non popular kid, someone that people easily forget about and someone that is “invisible”. The kid everyone ignores even if they speak loudly, even if they fight back. It’s like no matter what, they’ll always be a ghost, they’ll always be fading in with the background.

And it can take a tole on them, they’ll start wondering what they did wrong. Why can’t I just be like everyone else? Why can’t people listen to me? Why can’t I be seen too? differentiating bw neptune in the 1st and pisces risings

this is something that interests me having met so many neptune risers as a pisces rising myself. i can’t say i’m an absolute expert on it but i’ve been thinking about this a lot. i think that the sign of your ascendant sign is who you are. it’s how you interface with your reality, it’s the filter through which the rest of your chart passes through. the planets conjunct the ascendant or in the first house have a secondary importance to the sign. what i’ve found is when you have neptune in the first or conjunct the ascendant, people hardly know who you really are. the same can be said about pisces risings, but less so. with neptune there, your real identity is occluded by the neptunian fog. people will tend to see what they see, and each time it will be different. not so with pisces risings. people generally see piscean risings as good natured little baby angels, even if they’re not feeling internally aligned with that idea. so the difference is the neptune riser is a million different things to different people, and who they really are, which is their ascendant sign, is less defined. whereas a pisces rising will be one thing to everyone (“generally good”), whether or not it’s consistent with whatever they’re feeling or thinking about the person perceiving them. from another person’s standpoint, they would be more likely to trust a pisces rising than a neptune riser. they could very easily project onto the neptune riser whatever experiences they’ve had with people who have wounded them in the past, they could seem shady or fishy to people, or they could seem like jesus, or 40 different people’s true twin flames. neptune risers seem to absorb everybody’s different projections. whereas a pisces rising would easily get away with anything because people generally perceive them as little baby jesuses who can do no harm which of course isn’t fair at all, but this has been the consistent pattern i’ve observed in other pisces risings and neptune risers i know of (perhaps it’s the jupiterian luck in pisces).

of course the two of them have soooo much in common, not least of which is being artistic, imaginative, sensitive to vibes, and being prone to unconditional love for and from others (although the “unconditional love” from others is usually for the idea people have of them than for who they really are). another little difference that i’ve seen is how neptune risers are never your first impressions of them no matter how attuned you are to inner knowing or how strong your psychic authority. you will inevitably project onto them other people, or your own emotions and shadows, when you first meet them. so don’t elope with them after knowing one another only two days, you will be running with a different version of them in your mind. you will need the saturnian effect of time and to open your eyes to how they really show up for you to get to know them better and really discern which are your projections and which they really are. oftentimes, who they are in person is different from who they are online. when meeting irl, to them they may not have changed at all, but it’s you experiencing cognitive dissonance because you had all these preconceived notions of them that seemed so real. again it’s that neptune effect.

i think the key difference is that pisces will shapeshift for you, because they can, because that’s how they deal with the world and it’s not always a bad thing, just a more “yin” way of carrying out your will in the world. on the other hand, a neptune riser may have a fixed idea of who they truly are and feel like they’re always acting the same way, but they may seem to shapeshift because people project onto them so much. there’s definitely a lot of overlap between the two. they’re both dreamers. they both have eyes that seem to be gazing wistfully at the sunset. so the lesson from this is probably, nobody really knows who pisces risings and neptune risers are, until the neptunian fog goes away. god is in the details. they will tell you who they are, but between the two the neptune riser will probably be more correct bc pisces risings often struggle a little more with matters of identity, and until a pisces rising really masters the empathic merging state they will not really know much about their personal identity (for this i recommend rose rosetree’s empowered empath).
